Understanding Water pH

pH measures how acidic or alkaline water is on a scale of 0-14. Pure water has a neutral pH of 7. The EPA recommends drinking water have a pH between 6.5 and 8.5. Water that's too acidic can corrode pipes and leach metals, while highly alkaline water may have an unpleasant taste. Most natural water sources fall between 6.5 and 8.5.
