eGFR Calculator

Estimate your kidney function using the CKD-EPI equation based on creatinine levels.

What you need: Your serum creatinine level from a recent blood test. This is commonly included in metabolic panels.

Note: 2021 CKD-EPI equation no longer adjusts for race

Understanding eGFR

eGFR (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) measures how well your kidneys filter waste from your blood. It's calculated using creatinine (a waste product from muscle metabolism), age, and sex. A normal eGFR is 90 or higher. Values below 60 for 3+ months indicate chronic kidney disease.

Note: This calculator uses the 2021 CKD-EPI equation, which does not include race-based adjustments. eGFR can be affected by muscle mass, diet, and certain medications.

Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates only. Kidney function should be assessed by a healthcare provider using multiple tests and clinical evaluation.
